Mildew-A-Rama machines have been a longtime staple in Chicago museums. Now, the nostalgic gizmos that pump out souvenirs are getting their very personal exhibit.
The Museum of Science and Business is telling the story behind the long-lasting units with “Mildew-A-Rama: Molded for the Future.”
The exhibit showcases “a group of standard, uncommon and experimental Mildew-A-Rama souvenirs from the previous with their quirky colours, designs and — in fact — signature odor,” in accordance with the museum’s web site.

In change for $3 — or $5, relying on the placement — Mildew-A-Rama machines meld plastic into collectible figurines inside minutes. The retro-looking units have churned out a whole bunch of collectible novelties for over 60 years, the museum famous.
Guests will be capable of refill on molds, as a number of machines are put in all through the exhibit and museum.
The exhibit is working now till late 2023 on the museum’s decrease stage. The museum is open 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. day by day at 5700 S. DuSable Lake Shore Dr.
Entry to the exhibit is included with basic admission to the museum. Tickets can be found here.
